We need your help to pick up the Memorial Day flags we placed in town cemeteries prior to that holiday.
All who are willing to help can join the effort by going to either St Bernard's cemetery in Tariffville or the Simsbury Center Cemetery starting at 12 o'clock. The gathering point at St Bernard's is the Church parking lot across from the cemetery. At Center Cemetery, we'll gather again at the maintenance building on the right at the top of Plank Hill Rd. No advance sign up needed.
Simsbury High "Raise the American Flag" at home football games.
The schedule for home games is:
Sep 16 vs Platt, Sep 23 vs Norwalk, Oct 7 vs Conard, Oct 28 vs Hall, and Nov 19 vs Glastonbury.
We are looking for 2 post members to raise the flag prior to the game. Please note the first four dates are Friday evenings, and the last one against Glastonbury is on Saturday evening. Volunteers need to be at the field for flag raising prior to 6:15 when the pre-game ceremonies begin.
John Cashman has again volunteered to communicate to the Simsbury High School Athletic Dept the names of volunteers prior to each game. For anyone who hasn't done this before - there's no obligation to stay for the game and no admission charge when you arrive at the field.
